Day
01 : Arrival Delhi
On arrival, you will be met by a representative and transferred to the hotel
of your choice.
Day 02 : Delhi Morning full day city tour of Old & New Delhi which
including Raj Ghat Mahatma Gandhi's Memorial, the Jama Masjid
Universal Mosque, the Red Fort and to fabled Chandni Chowk Silver
Street covering the spice market, Gold / Silversmith market on rickshaws tri-cycles
through the bylanes. Afternoon city tour of New Delhi which includes the Qutab
Minar, Emperor Humayun's Tomb, the India Gate, the Houses
of Parliament and the Presidential Palace. We will also visit the
National Museum, having a good collection of Indian bronzes stone &
wood sculptures dating back to the 2nd and 3rd Century BC. This museum also
has a fine collection of tribal costumes.
Day 03 : Delhi - Corbett National Park By road - 6 hours drive
Morning we drive for 6 hours to Corbett National Park, based at Ramnagar,
250 km northeast of Delhi and 63 km southwest of Nainital, is one of India's
premier wildlife reserves. On arrival, check in to the Jungle Resort. Corbett
is most famous for its large cats and in particular the tiger - this was the
first designated Project Tiger Reserve in 1973. The park holds a great assortment
of other animals. Large elephant herds have been confined within its
boundaries since the construction of the Ramganga Reservoir blocked migratory
routes. The best place to see them is around the picturesque Dhikala camp near
the reservoir. The reservoir shelters populations of gharial, a long-snouted,
fish eating crocodile, and maggar, a large marsh crocodile and other
reptiles. The park has also large population of Jackals, Wild boars,
Chitals spotted deer, Hog deer and the larger Sambars antelopes.
Afternoon we visit to the Wildlife Park on jeeps.
Day
04 : Corbett National Park
Early morning and afternoon jeep safaris into the wildlife park. This night
we move into the reserve forest and live in forest bungalow. Our catering,
linen etc. will be provided by the Claridges Resort. To avoid electrocution
of the animals in the park, there is no electricity in the reserve area. So,
this evening we have the unique opportunity of listening to the animal sounds
in the dark and waking early to see wildlife at the watering holes.
Day 05 : Corbett National Park - Delhi By road - 6 hours drive
Morning we drive for 6 hours to Delhi. On arrival, check in to the hotel of
your choice. Evening sound & light show at the Red Fort.
Day 06 : Delhi - Sawai Madhopur By train Golden Temple Mail - 0755 hours
/ 1310 hours
Early morning transfer to the New Delhi railway station to board the train Golden
Temple Mail to Sawai Madhopur. On arrival, transfer to the Jungle Resort. Ranthambore
National Park nears the town of Sawai Madhopur, midway between Bharatpur and
Kota. The park is one of the prime examples of Project Tiger's conservation
efforts in Rajasthan. The entire area is laid out over rocky hills and grasslands.
A number of rivers pass through forming several lakes haunted by crocodiles
and hundred of waterbirds. Besides the roaming tigers, the park has a large
population of wild boars, deer's and reptiles. Afternoon safari to the Ranthanbore
Sanctuary, home of the tiger, wild boar, crocodile and several other variety
of flora and fauna.
Day
07 : Ranthambore National Park
Early morning and mid-afternoon, we will have a jeep safari tour in the Ranthanbore
Sanctuary. The rest of the day, you are free to take part in your own personal
activities. Today we again meet with the wildlife wardens who give us talk on
the developmental and conservationist work being done at Ranthambore.
Day 08 : Ranthambore National Park - Jaipur By road - 4 hours drive
Morning we drive for 4 hours to Jaipur, the beautiful pink city almost
totally built in shimmering pink sandstone. On arrival, check in to the hotel.
Day 09 : Jaipur
Morning excursion to the Amber Fort, where you ascend the hill like a
Maharaja on the back of an elephant. Afternoon, we will commence our city tour
of Jaipur, which includes visits to the City Palace of the Jaipur Maharaja,
the honey-comb designed Hawa Mahal also known as the Palace of Wind from
where the royal ladies, who lived in seclusion, observed life on the outside
yet remained hidden inside. Also we visit the amazingly accurate Jantar Mantar
stone Observatory.
Day 10 : Jaipur - Bharatpur By road - 5 hours drive
Morning we drive for 5 hours to Bharatpur is just a stone's throw from the border
with Uttar Pradesh, 150 km east of Jaipur and 18 km from Fatehpur Sikri, Akbar's
deserted citadel. Later we will visit the Keoladeo Ghana National Park, a
bird sancturay, was originally reserved by the royal family for hunting.
It became a sanctuary in 1956 and received total protection in 1981 on recognition
as a national park. This park has over 415 species of birds including 117 species
of migratory birds. The famous Siberian Crane makes this park it's home from
November to March every year. On arrival, check in to the hotel. Evening we
do a boat ride on gondola-style boats and its really superb opportunity
to close to the birds in the heart of the wetland.
Day
11 : Bharatpur - Fatehpur Sikri - Agra By road - 2 hours drive
In the morning, we will have a trip to the national park, where you will have
a tri-cycle rickshaw ride through the Keoldeo Ghana National Park. Late morning,
we will check out from the hotel and drive on to Agra. En-route, we will visit
the Ghost Capital of the Mughal Emperor Akbar, one of the finest examples of
Moghul architecture in India - Fatehpur Sikri, built entirely of red
sandstone and now declared as a World Heritage Monument and Tomb of Salim Chisti.
In Agra, we will check in to the hotel of your choice. Afternoon, visit the
Agra Fort, reminiscent of the glorious and sorrowful Mughal reign. At
the time of sunset, we will visit one of the Wonders of the World, the famous
Taj Mahal, poetry in marble and a symbol of eternal love.
Day 12 : Agra - Umaria By train Kalinga Utkal Express - 1510 hours / 0600
hours
Morning . Afternoon transfer to the Agra railway station to board the train
Kalinga Utkal Express to Umaria. Overnight on the train.
Day 13 : Arrival Umaria - Bandhavgarh By road - 1 hour drive
Arrival Umaria railway station at 0600 hours. On arrival, you will be met and
transferred to the Jungle Lodge. Bandhavgarh is a rich grassland Savannah jungle,
the park has the highest density of tigers of any of India's reserves,
shelters a collection of fascinating ruins, and offer the chance of trekking
through the jungle on elephant back. The core area of the park is fairly small
with a fragile ecology, but it supports such animals as the Nilgai Blue Bull,
Wild Boar, Jackal, Guar, Samber Deet and Porcupine, as well as many species
of birds. The ramparts of the fort provide a home for vultures, Blue Rock Thrushes
and Crag Martins. Elephants have been part of Bandhavgarh society for
generations, reared, trained and cared for by mahawats and their families. Afternoon
we visit the Wildlife Park on jeeps.
Day
14 : Bandhavgarh - Khajuraho By road - 6 / 7 hours drive
Early morning and mid-afternoon, we will have a jeep safari tour to the Wildlife
Park. Afternoon we drive for 6 / 7hours to Khajuraho, a city living temples,
of the Indo-Aryan type and generally classified as " Nagara " or North
Indian. These temples were built during the Chandela period, a dynasty which
survived for five centuries before falling to the onslaught of Islam. On arrival,
check in to the hotel of your choice.
Day 15 : Khajuraho - Delhi By 9W 924 - 1330 hours / 1550 hours
Morning we will visit the architectural marvels of " The Khajuraho Temples".
These Hindu temples with erotic carvings were built 1000 years ago with art
and architecture merged to perfection. The temples are in three groups in an
area of about 8 square miles. The western group, largest and most important
is situated at the axis of the Lalguan-rajnagar road. The eastern group is that
of the Brahamin and jain shrines close to the present Khajuraho village. Late
morning transfer to the airport to fly to Delhi. On arrival, you will be met
and transferred to the hotel of your choice.
